Alessandro Speri’s Malbecs, the only Argentinian wines on our list, are beginning to find a loyal following here, and I hope the encouraging notice in The Best of Wine in Ireland 2008 helps.

In terms of health-giving properties in wine (if you buy into all of that), red wines from Mendoza are amongst the healthiest (along with those from Sardinia).
As I recall from reading Jamie Goode’s “Science of Wine”, something to do with the higher altitude resulting in higher polyphenol levels.
Damn shame it’s not a hair restorer too.
