Thanks for the kind words Julian, I’m glad that you enjoyed the tasting.
I really do think people should pay more attention to wines from off the beaten track, which is why I’m such a fan of Bubble Brothers and Karwig Wines. Both of ye strive to find great and unusual wines. Keep up the good work.

Sounds like a fine evening’s tasting, I’m sorry to have missed it. Great write up. Definitely a few that I’m tempted to try there.

A return visit to Fenn’s Quay is overdue at this stage as we had great meal there a few months ago.

Thanks, Will – it was a good session that I thought would be more densely attended.

I know what you mean about lack of determination, which I think has been our chief obstacle to progress. There was an undertow of great ripeness across the board, vinho verde perhaps excepted, that might not grab everyone; but I think the wines we tasted all handled that balance judiciously.

Sounds like a fun tasting. I’ve never really gotten on with Portugese wines but that’s more to do with a lack of determination on my part. I’ll defintely keep an eye out for a few of these (especially the Baga).

Fair play to Kevin for hosting the event too, I’ve always enjoyed his restaurant!
