Alessandro Speri, son of a famous Italian wine family, wasn't entirely popular when he announced that he was going to Argentina to make wine - but the prodigal was welcomed back after the first taste of the fruits of his labours! This is a sumptuous wine with aromas of dark fruits and substantial body, though there's a finesse reminiscent of European reds that distinguishes it from from other merely beefy Argentinian Malbecs. Here's a link to Alessandro's website, and here are some relevant posts from our blog. The 2005 vintage has won the gold medal at Wine Style Asia wine competition 2008 in Singapore.
