Agricola Castellana Cuatro Rayas Verdejo 2011 (100% old-vine verdejo)
Vivacious, fruity Rueda made from ancient, low-yielding verdejo vines. The flavour profile is passionfruit, lime cordial, and freshly-chopped herbs, and the wine shows amazing intensity and purity.
Beautiful on its own on a warm summer evening, as an aperitif, or with Asian food or zesty salads.

------------------------
1. The Peñin Guide (Spain’s top wine review publication) awarded 92 points to Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios, an astonishing result for a wine that retails for just €12.50
In fact, three other wines from Cuatro Rayas scored in excess of 90 points, making it Rudea’s best-rated winery!

2. RUEDA is a fashionable DO (appellation) in Castille y León, central Spain, that exports mostly white wines that are unoaked, zesty, aromatic, and intended for young drinking. Verdejo is the top grape here, though viura/macabeo and sauvignon blanc may be used as well.
The continental region, bisected by the River Duero, lies on a plateau (part of the Meseta) that is 600-800m above sea level. Tell a friend about this wine! |
