Bodega Valle de la Puerta La Puerta Alta Bonarda 2009 (100% Bonarda)
Originally from Piedmont (Italy) though now rare there, bonarda is today grown mostly in Argentina where it was until recently the country's most-planted variety (malbec is the current numero uno!).
La Puerta Alta's 2009 bonarda - winner of the Trophy for the Best Argentine Red wine under £10 at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2010 - is full bodied and rich, packed with fig, raisin, and spicy blackberry flavours.
Shows best after decanting, and alongside charred meats or strong cheeses. Tell a friend about this wine! | | | |
